If the website load and reload speed is fast, typically within 3 seconds, Google will not penalize your site.

What type of review site are we creating? Let me tell you what kind of review website we are going to create, the one that I did is a “top 10 list” type of website.

You will learn how to create an article reviewing the top 10 related products and you’re going to show the ‘pros’ and ‘cons’ of each and every one of them.

This article will be minimal 2000 words you’re going to have to create a very detailed review article in your niche product because you only need to do it once a year.

And Google in fact loves articles that are huge and very detailed.

Here’s how to start affiliate marketing in 4 Steps:

1. Find your niche

Choosing a niche isn’t a difficult task if you know what you’re looking for and what you love doing.

You could choose something that you’re very passionate about. You could be a tech enthusiast and love to read the latest tech posts and you have subscribed to a lot of tech reviewers on YouTube.

So, after choosing your niche, let’s assume it’s tech, you set your mind to write about computer accessories and the latest gadgets.

Now you move forward to choose product categories as I mentioned earlier it’s not the specific niche site, it is actually going to be the “top 10 list” authority website.

But you have to make sure that the products you choose better cost 40$ minimum. And I would also add that they should not cost more than 500$.

Minimum 40$ for products that have at least 5000 to 10000 searches per month, and for more expensive products like 150$ and up to 500$, have at least 500 to 1000 searches a month.

You may ask, why shouldn’t target products that cost more than 500$, because potential buyers plan to take a longer time for a purchase decision they may go into your website and read your article, but if something cost a lot of money for them, they may even click on your Amazon affiliate link.

They will probably take more than 24 hours to decide whether it is time to make an expensive purchase.

Meaning that after 24 hours your cookies will disappear and you will not make any money when he finally decides on the purchase he may even weeks or even months to finally go and place this expensive order.

2. Choose a product category

The first thing you have to do is to find the main broad categories in which you can find your niche related products.

To find categories you head over to AliExpress categories, you might be wondering why not Amazon departments?

See how well organized and detailed these categories are.

That is why when I want a product category I jump towards AliExpress.

So, all categories fall under Tech niche, you don’t go further deep inside because you can choose one or 10 of those categories and write one article for each category, while planning for your own authority website you choose 10 categories to write in.

Even before choosing your domain name you can do what I did and do five high competition categories and five low competition categories.

Because I wanted to compete with some big giants or you could choose 10 or 20 low competition and it just traffic you will be receiving won’t be much but you will rank high on Google very easily for low competition keywords.

3. The key of this strategy

The key of this strategy is keyword research. Now it’s time for keyword research, analyzing the competition and see how much monthly searches we will get.

I always follow this pattern to generate the keyword:

  • Best + [Product Category] + [year]
  • Best Budget + [Product Category] + [year]
  • Best + [Product Category] + [Country]

Or is instead of best you could use: Top 10, Top Quality, Affordable, Cheapest, Cheap, Comparison, Review.

Don’t be thrown off by terms like cheap and affordable, believe it or not, keywords with the words like “Cheap” convert really well.

For example, someone searching for cheap laptops has already decided that they want the laptop, they are just looking for a product in their price range.

For this example, I found a very good website:, it’s got a simple WordPress theme.

When you look at this website you will not think that this website gets a lot of hungry buyers.

I mean look at it how could it compete with big Amazon affiliates like or but trust me I will soon show you that this website does compete with big guys in the industry for high Google rank spot, and high Google rank spot generates thousands of dollars for hungry buyer keywords.

So, I did some research on this website for the purpose of real life examples and I found that he ranks really high for these keywords: “Best wireless router 2016” and “best 3D pen”.

Let me show you how Pro marketers approach the whole thing and what makes our simple sites compete with big sharks like Cnet and PCWorld and rank so high for hungry keywords that target and attract those who want to buy products not just read.

And that the key, finding hungry buyer keywords that target only buyers, not readers who love to browse the internet.
How do you go about finding hungry buyer keywords?

Follow this process:

You found a niche product category you want to write about and you want to check what kind of exact hungry buyer keywords out there on the Google database.

Go to the Google planner tool and do the keyword research there. And if we know what people want or need, we will try to satisfy them by providing them with what they want or need.

All I see is a potential to unlimited profits. The money is just laying around. You will only need to have to pick it up.

To pick it up you need to bend and this process of bending in real life is called “put in the actual work”.

I guarantee you if you put in work this will make you thousands of dollars a month.

So, let’s dive back into the process: we have a niche/product in mind, and let’s say we chose “router table“.

We add the word “best” to the product category and search “best router table review“.

Keywords are all pulled out from Google’s database, your job is to look for some keywords to have a potential that will make you money as soon as possible.

Now I found something that I personally would pursue “best router table review”.

I’m pretty sure that this keyword is very hard to rank for, it definitely has some big players on the first page of Google. So, I’ll show you how I first started with affiliate marketing and building my authority website from scratch.

How to use Google keyword planner

Copy this keyword and go to Google keyword planner, past it and get ideas and find out that this is a high competition keyword, then you say OK, we didn’t think that it was going to be high competition keyword.

OK, there might be medium or low competition keywords as well. If you look around and find this low competition keyword like “best router table 2019”.

Now we do more in-depth competition analysis, most of the review articles on the first page of Google are huge, in-depth articles explaining everything and they go really in-depth, it’s no surprise that they do, Google loves detailed in-depth articles.

So we must be doing the same thing- writing a very detailed review of your top 10 list product category, otherwise, your competition will beat you.

4. Check Backlinks of your competition using free SEO tools

Next, we check for Backlinks. We are under budget and we don’t have much to spend on SEO tools that are extremely expensive. We use these free websites to check their backlinks:

As you can see there is almost nothing pointing to their page for the keyword we want to rank for.

Awesome, it means we can outrank or at least rank as high as our competition for that keyword.

We found out that the keyword we want to rank for isn’t their biggest priority.

They didn’t build any backlink to these particular articles and that’s where we step in, we found an opportunity, we found a place that can be ranked on the first page of Google.

Yes, it may take some time to rank for it, since we’re going to have to build backlinks to our URLs with review article: “best router table 2019”, but the time spent will be worth it because even though our competition is strong, the article that they put out that will compete against ours.

This particular article of these guys isn’t going to be as powerful as ours, our article will outperform theirs because we’re going to give such care to each and every single article of ours, they are going to be very hard to beat.


So that is the whole point of the keyword research, you find a product category you want to make sure that it is impossible or possible to beat your competition. In this case, you find something that’s possible even though your competition is strong but they haven’t got any backlinks pointed to their article that you want to rank for.

Most of the time you will encounter strong competition on your targeted keyword. Pretty much every niche, product category on Amazon is occupied by somebody else.

It’s really rare for you to find hungry buyers keyword minimum 1000 searches a month, that are low competition.

The trick is that amateurs will get discouraged by seeing high competition in the keyword planner tool, and Pros will know to find the right keyword even though it’s high competition, but not too high and very beatable competition.

So, the trick is to dig in and do in-depth research on your competition, just like I demonstrated earlier, I found high competition keyword “best router table 2019” but it was still possible to beat.

The competition was high but it was high because their root domains had some quality backlinks. It’s not that their article is strong, it hasn’t got any quality backlink pointing towards it.

So, if we write an awesome and very detailed review article just like our competition, build quality backlinks pointing to this article, not to our domain but to this particular article, Google is a robot, not a human it will always reward those that fall into their SEO ranking rules.

And the rule state that no matter how good your root domain is, no matter how good the backlinks pointed it to your root domain are, if a particular page on your website isn’t as good as your competitor’s page who’s got quality backlinks pointed to that particular page your competition will outrank you.

Of course, you also need to write a very detailed article and do on-page SEO. But to be able to outrank your competition, I will guide you through these things as well, quality backlinks are one of the most if not the most important thing in SEO.

Fast way to analyze your competition

So, you’re still in the process of determining whether the keyword is worth going after or not?

Previously I showed you how to analyze the competition the hard way because I wanted you to know that in-depth competition analysis which is something that you must know as well.

You saw the websites and the individual articles of your competition. If the competition was simple looking WordPress sites, the owners of the websites are probably folks like me and you.

For this fast way analyzing, you download “MOZ” toolbar for your browser.

Once you download and sign up for free and all set, you’re going to have a quick look at how strong these competitors’ websites and pages are.

Now, you’re going to analyze PA (page authority) and DA (domain authority) of top 10 rankings.

Now, we have to realize that you’re probably going to have a brand new website and your PA and DA will be zero, and you may be discouraged by seeing that your competitors are way ahead of you and you will never get on top 10.

Don’t discourage by that even though your competitors are strong, but they are still beatable.

The previous in-depth research proved that these guys are most likely working alone on the website.

Because their websites don’t seem to look like those big players websites like or

They’re pretty simple, these guys are like us trying to make a buck from commissions.

Meaning they are beatable or at least we can rank on the first page of Google. At least we can be really close to them.

Pay close attention on PA

By looking at the first 4 or 5 search results, you will probably get confused because previous in-depth research revealed that these pages didn’t have backlinks, but MOZ toolbar says they do.

And when you click to see these backlinks, MOZ says there are not any backlinks to these pages.

This happens because most of the time these backlinks were probably some blog comments or social media shares, the owners of these articles did after posting review articles, these backlinks are probably not as powerful backlinks.

If there were some quality backlinks pointed to this page, MOZ would show them.

The most important thing to look at is PA. And if you found the average of the first page of Google is less than 30 you would go for this keyword.

And here I found a few pages that are ranking with PA even less than 14.

It’s a good sign for us because once we have very good in-depth review articles, we will build some quality backlinks so these review articles that you will rank for.

Do this all the time, don’t pay too much attention on DA, pay close attention on PA.

Keyword tools

Nowadays, Google Keyword planner has become a pain to get “Exact Search Volume” data, it doesn’t show much unless you run a campaign and spend money on it.

Get a proper paid SEO tool for your keyword research and competition analysis can help you.

Because without it you will end up choosing a buyer intent keyword that is either tough to rank or/and not worth going after.

SEMrush is one of the most essential tools ever based on SEO tactics.

The tool is used to analysis competitors, site audit, advertising in site, checking traffic, backlinks, and much more important aspects.

This is one of the best ways to research and get the idea, and what strategy you need to follow up to improve your ranking.

The interesting part about this tool is that you can check some data for FREE, also they give trial access to check out if this tool go in to work for you or not.

Article structure

Content structure is something which decides your conversion rate, user time on page, and bounce rate.

While writing your article you need to keep two audiences in mind: search engine and website visitors.

You need to take care of both of these because you don’t have any choice. One is sending you visitors and the other one is filling your pockets.

1. Article introduction

The introduction of your article is very important since it will affect your visitor’s behavior.

Visitors will either stick around and continue reading or hit the back button and leave.

So, you have to make sure that the introduction of the articles is good enough.

2. Comparison table

Comparison table

A comparison table is great when it comes to conversion, just right after the introduction, include a simple yet powerful comparison table.

Check the plugin link if you want to download it on your WordPress website.

So, most of your visitors don’t have the time to read your complete article, what they needed is to try to find a table which lists all the products you’re reviewing in that specific article.

3. Detailed reviews

If you want to rank on the 1st page of Google, make sure that you write the most complete, detailed, and in-depth review on the products which convert into sales.

How to do that? Let me explain here,

Review heading: Explain why you included that product. Chances are that your visitor is looking for a specific product are very high. So, try to explain that in your title which audience that product is good for.

Link your images to Amazon: People love to click around once they are on your website. Make sure the images included are being hotlinked to their Amazon product page using your Amazon ID.

Explain what is wrong in your product: This is very important. You don’t keep praising every product you review, point out the bad factors in that specific product, this helps to build trust in a reader, and generate more sales.

Pros & Cons

Before closing up the review, you always include the Pros and Cons of that product. Your article will look more professional and your visitor will trust you more.

So, be prepared to write a minimum of 10,000-word articles. You don’t need many articles, but those 10 you write must be huge.

4. Buyer’s guide

Giving value to your visitors will improve your conversion and make way more money.

Google will see that you are the go-to resource about the topic and products are covering. Plus, it will help you to rank for other keywords that you never thought of ranking for.

And the more keywords you rank for, the more traffic and ultimately the more commission you will get.

5. Internal linking

Is very important and that is why you have to add related posts manually at the end of each of your articles.

It helps a lot to pass the links juice to other pages.

2. What is quality backlinks and why do we need to build them?

Google valuers backlinks because they view backlinks as a vote for your website, the more high-quality votes you have pointed to your website or page that you want to rank for, the better your rankings will be.

The more high-quality backlinks you have, the more your website trust and authority are going to increase in Google’s eyes.

So, the higher the rankings the more affiliate sales you will get.

What is quality backlinks?

Quality backlinks are links that come from high-authority sites and sites that are relevant to your niche.

Usually, we measure quality based on these 2 important metrics like DA and trust flow.

3. Link building strategy that works in 2020

The first way to build backlinks is called the Guestographic method. Basically, it is a combination of two words guess and infographic.

You share an infographic that you made in your review article to authority websites in your niche.

Then email these webmasters of authority websites saying that you saw their article about the topic your infographic is about, you basically are offering value for them and it’s proven that infographics are loved by everyone and their audience might like as well.

You offer a text introduction that goes with an infographic and this text intro will contain a link back to your website. That’s how you get a backlink.
