It has been reported that a third title in the Modern Warfare series is to be released this year according to a report from the Los Angeles times.

The report claims that from unnamed sources they have been told that Activision have recruited Sledgehammer games (Also working on another Call of Duty title), Raven software and Infinity Ward to finish the development of Modern Warfare 3.

They have reported that Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward will be equally be working on the single player segment of the time whilst Raven software develop the Multiplayer online side of things, which is reportedly going to be heavily based on the Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops multiplayer option.
